Returning from war and/or being at war can have major consequences for these young soldiers. But also their attitudes about the war usually change. They see death and carnage everyday they are away at war. After researching I learned that a lot of leading officers use a "Post-Battle" meeting that allows the men of the unit to get things off their chest and to vent about the situation in which they were just in. A lot of men who return from war develop ASD (Acute Stress Disorder). Men and women are in constant danger every second they are at war and they develop combat fatigue, because they are always nervous, worrying about ever present danger. Many of the returning veterans say that they feel as if they were not prepared for the war as they should have been. Soldiers reported that they had to handle body parts of unit mates but also innocent civilians and that, that effected them psychologically in a major way. Returning from war a lot of soldiers feel like it is hard to return to a normal everyday life. They have become so accustomed to gunfire and death that a simple job just doesn't seem right. they feel as if they don't relate to people because they haven't been through the same hardships. But also these men and woman miss their comrades who they formed a family bond with.
