What meant the most to me about this individual was how much of a great guy he was in general always trying to help others. His wife and close friend who was a firefighter said that he was always looking to help people in any way he could, and was always trying to learn. I also liked that William J. Mahoney was a family man, he was always putting his family first and always trying to support his wife and son. From this individual, I learn that you should not take life for granted. This man was still young and had a great family and happy life. I believe this individual knew that he was putting his life on the line everyday as a firefighter to save other peoples lives, not knowing if he will come back home or not and to me, that makes him a extremely brave and caring man.

This man seemed to be such a great person, the fact that he left behind a son and wife is so devastating. I could not imagine losing someone so close to me. This man is a hero and I am sure that helped ease the minds of his family members.
