Ling Young is an inspiration. First of all, she survived an explosion. Second, she went through over 40 surgeries. Third, she almost gave up but she held on and came out strong.
She witnessed all of her coworkers on the ground lifeless after the explosion, she hardly even noticed she was injured herself. She would have surgery after surgery and she was helpless from no functioning in her hands.
"I don't know what my future will be. I was a traveler. I had many trips planned, now I cant go anywhere."
For many years she got more and more discouraged as the burns started to scar her skin got tighter, limiting her movements. But in 2007 she went to a burn convention and saw people like herself and became more confident in herself.
"I told my doctor no more surgery. It happened and i'm alive. I was given a second chance. I'm glad i'm here so one day at a time i will do things. I wake up and say ''gee, i'm alive' No more grief. You're alive."
She is an inspiration that when things get tough don't give up hope and hold onto the fact that you are here for a reason.

I think she's very inspiring! Before 9/11 she was a planner planning vacations and after the tragedy she decided to stop planning. After a while Ling accepted her condition and embraced life, getting that second chance.
ReplyDeletei would agree in the fact that this woman is an inspiration to all Americans she went through so much and never gave up and still could smile and laugh and just be thankful to be alive and not drown in self pity.
