How to live before you die (2005)
This video is from TED of Steve Jobs giving a graduation speech at Stanford University. Jobs shared 3 of his life stories that all have a meaning everyone can carry with them.

Connecting the dots
Jobs told a story about how he dropped out of college because he was tired of taking meaningless classes. He then "dropped-in" on a typography class which would come in handy for him 10 years down the road when inventing the first Mac. Jobs said he looked back and knew he dropped out of college for a reason, he took that typography class for a reason. "You can't connect the dots looking forwards, you can only connect the dots looking backwards." He looked back after inventing the first Mac and new it all had a rhyme and reason to it.

Love & Loss
This story is about losing his business he first started, literally Jobs was fired from his own creation. But even after he was fired he loved it so much he started other businesses and pursued his dream. After getting fired from Apple he started Pixar Animations. Eventually down the road Apple teamed up with Pixar and Jobs was back with his company. He said "love keeps you going. Love what you do and do not settle."

Death
"No one wants to die. Even the people who want to go to heaven don't want to face death." Jobs told the story of how he was diagnosed with pancreas cancer and he was told he only had 3-6 months left. After getting the bad news in the morning he went back and had another scan done that night when the doctors found out this cancer was curable. Jobs had the sugery and became better. He believes that death is a destination we all share as human beings. He also said death is the best invention in life. "It clears the old and makes room for the new." Speaking to graduates, he told them "You are the new."

I took a lot from this speech. It really inspires me to find what I love and to chase it until it's mine. Also to live each day like it could be my last. And lastly, everything happens for a reason. We might not know why things happen now but down the road we'll look back and connect the dots.
